I had a lovely stay at this resort spa, where the peaceful environment really welcomed relaxation. The pool area was particularly enticing, especially since the atmosphere was tropical. However, I felt that the dining experience could be improved as some options were restricted during brunch. Overall, my experience was quite positive, even though I would have preferred a bit more variety in food choices.

Rooms

The rooms were lovely and provided a peaceful retreat, though they were a little on the small side.
Service

The range of amenities was impressive, and I appreciated the little welcome drink upon arrival, but I think there could be improvements for room service options.

The location was incredible, with stunning views of the Finlayson Arm and just a short trip to Victoria and other attractions.
Dining

The dining experience was satisfactory but could be better; I was disappointed that brunch need to be booked in advance, which I wasn't aware of.

My stay at Villa Aquila had its ups and downs. The setting is delightful with a tropical vibe, perfect for swimming even in colder weather, but the room design left a bit to be desired. The amenities were decent, but I felt that some services, like room service, could use improvements. Overall, while the views were stunning, it wasn't perfect.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a unique layout with two sets of stairs, but it was uncomfortable as there wasn't a clear separation between the living and sleeping areas, making it challenging for someone to stay up later without disturbing others.
Service
6.0
I found the service to be decent; they offered valet parking and had pet amenities available, but room service was limited, which could definitely be improved.
Location
9.0
The location was gorgeous, maintaining a tropical feel and providing views that you could never tire of, plus it was conveniently close to Victoria and other attractions on the southern part of the Island.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was quite ordinary for the price, especially the breakfast, which I found lacked variety and was somewhat disappointing for $40 per person. It would have been better if we were able to enjoy brunch without the need for advance reservation.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were reasonable, with a pool that I enjoyed, but the need for improvement in the dining offerings impacted the overall experience.

I had a really enjoyable stay overall. The food was incredibly delicious and my room was extra comfy, with a nice setup that even had coffee and water waiting for me. However, the layout wasn't ideal for late-night activities since there were two sets of stairs but no division between living and sleeping areas. Also, I felt that the breakfast selection could be improved, as it was pretty basic. But the resort ambiance and views were just outstanding.

The surroundings were kept very tropical, creating a great atmosphere, especially when I took a swim despite the cold weather outside. The view of Washington's Mount Olympus was simply breathtaking.
Dining

While the meals were generally good and particularly great most days, I was disappointed that the brunch required advance booking, which wasn't clearly communicated. The breakfast was just basic and somewhat underwhelming given the price.

I really enjoyed my stay at this luxurious resort. The rooms were absolutely stunning with a king-sized bed, a Nespresso machine, and a jet tub, plus breathtaking views from the balcony. However, I did find the walls were quite thin, which affected the overall comfort. The service was excellent, especially with the room service and pet amenities. The location was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, despite lacking ocean views. Dining was a bit of a letdown; I wish I had known about the need to book brunch in advance as I missed out. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with a few minor drawbacks.

I had a wonderful stay at this resort spa with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains right from my private terrace. The rooms were not only comfortable, but also thoughtfully prepared with coffee and water waiting for me. I did find the dining options somewhat hit-or-miss, and room service could use some improvement. However, the overall experience was relaxing and rejuvenating, making it a great getaway from the city.

Rooms

The location is outstanding, providing a peaceful retreat with stunning views over the Finlayson Arm. It's also conveniently close to some great restaurants in Cowichan Bay.
Dining

The dining experience was generally good, but I found the meals inconsistent; the grilled salmon was excellent, while one day's meal didn't meet expectations. Booking is essential for some locations, so make sure to plan ahead.
